R.I.P. is a real good...techno music.(SIDE-LINE,Belgium)
Проект R.I.P. (ROPPONGI INC.PROJECT) создан в 2002 году и изначально состоял из одного участника – Сергея L. (DJ NEGATIVE, http://www.myspace.com/djnegat… )***(В 2007 году состав проекта пополнился ещё одним музыкантом - Дмитрием Фоминым aka DJ ФОМИН). Стиль музыки - dark electronic freestyle/ТВМ! Это наиболее подходящее определение, потому что в творчестве R.I.P. можно услышать и транс, и техно, и индастриал, и эмбиент, и дарк электро и даже нечто напоминающее future-pop! В принципе,немалая часть материала альбомов проекта легко подходит под недавно появившееся определение TBM(Techno Body Music). Roppongi-название одного из наиболее оживлённых, ярких и насыщенных ночной жизнью районов Токио! Ежедневно, а в особенности в выходные дни, здесь можно увидеть туристов со всех концов света, напивающихся и бродящих из клуба в клуб, из стрип-бара в ресторан и наоборот. Жизнь бурлит здесь весь вечер и всю ночь, лишь с рассветом Roppongi успокаивается и становится обычным деловым районом крупнейшего в мире мегаполиса. Таким образом ROPPONGI символизирует собой некий упорядоченный хаос, движение, прелесть неоновых огней рекламы и крики зазывал стриптиз-баров и, одновременно, неизбежность наступления утра... Первый альбом ROPPONGI INC. PROJECT “R.I.P." вышел ограниченным тиражом в 500 копий в 2003 году на лэйбле Underize muzik и получил положительные отклики в прессе, интернете и на альтернативных радиостанциях(в том числе Эхо Москвы “Project 91.2", “Cyberage radio” (NM,USA)и т.д.), при этом две композиции Think Twice и Crash так полюбились заокеанским слушателям, что были некоторое время в ротации вышеозначенного Cyberage radio ( http://www.cyberageradio.cx ). Весь альбом пронизан атмосферой японского хоррор-фильма “The RING"-это чувствуется и в оформлении альбома и в музыкальной палитре, а последняя композиция носит это же название и преисполнена голосовыми и музыкальными сэмплами из фильма. Второй альбом ROPPONGI INC. PROJECT “Till The END" вышел в 2005 году на московком лэйбле RGP(Russian Gothic Project ( http://www.gothic.ru ) и получился несколько иным по своей музыкальной природе,нежели первый релиз. Как и прежде,музыка R.I.P. грустна и реалистична,даже депрессивна,но,теперь под неё можно двигаться!Альбом выдержан в инструментальном ключе,а для препарации ,на этот раз ,выбран фильм Dogville,сэмплами из которого сдобрен последний трэк the END.Трансовая композиция Birthday с альбома звучит и за океаном и на альтернативных клубных танцполах Великобритании,Германии,Италии и Польши.В последней она даже заняла 5-е место в почётной двадцатке лучших композиций тёмной сцены 2005 года! Окончательный мастеринг альбомов “R.I.P.” и “Till the END” выполнен музыкантом и звукорежиссёром Вадимом Угрюмовым aka MOTOR,в прошлом - участником группы TRIPLEX,что обеспечило альбомам качественное и сбалансированное звучание.Графическое оформление релизов в стиле “hi-tec” исполнил питерский дизайнер Кирилл Кузьмин aka KK. В 2007 и 2008 гг Roppongi Inc. Project принял участие в электро-индустриальных сборниках “Vol.IV” u "Vol.V" немецкого лэйбла VAWS ( http://www.discogs.com/release… ) с композициями “Nothing” и "Hard Times...(DF Dance Edit)".В начале 2008 года R.I.P. успел отметиться ударными ремиксами на наших соотечественников NECRO STELLAR и на американских дарк-электронщиков DIVERJE!Оба ремикса представлены на официальных релизах данных коллективов в этом году! В январе 2008 года увидел свет третий релиз ROPPONGI INC. PROJECT “Hard Times… No Future?”,выпущенный российским лэйблом Q-Code records ( http://www.q-code.ru ). Аббревиатура Inc. в названии проекта имеет разные значения от альбома к альбому: на первом релизе, “R.I.P.”(2003), она означала “Inconsistent”, а на втором ,“Till The End”(2005), — “Incorrect”. В случае “Hard Times… No Future?” она расшифровывается традиционно — Incorporated. В работе над альбомом принял участие DJ Фомин, внесший существенную лепту в звучание многих композиций и выполнивший профессиональный мастеринг релиза. В “Hard Times… No Future?” нашлось место и депрессии, и тоске, и страху (этому способствуют множество сэмплов из различных хоррор-фильмов), и взрывной танцевальности, которой стало несоизмеримо больше по сравнению с предыдущими релизами проекта. В качестве бонус-треков на альбоме представлены: ремикс от французского electro проекта SEVERIN24 ( http://www.myspace.com/severin… ), а также вокальный ремикс от известной московской формации DBS ( http://www.myspace.com/dbselec… ). Арт-ворк альбома разработан совместно DJ Hellen (RGP, Gothic.ru) и Назаром aka 54r из группы DBS. Live-дебют Roppongi Inc. Project состоялся 16 сентября 2007 года в одной обойме с Melotron, Head-less и Diorama в московском клубе Точка. R.I.P. tracks are frequently played on alternative radio stations in Europe and USA. Moreover in spring 2007 R.I.P. with its composition “Nothing” took part in electro-industrial compilation “Vol.IV” by a German label VAWS. In the beginning of 2008 R.I.P. made the remixes for the bands DIVERJE (USA) and NECRO STELLAR (RUS). The both remixes will be released on the forthcoming albums of these bands. Abbreviation Inc. in the name of the project changes its meaning from album to album: on the first release “R.I.P.”(2003) it was “Inconsistent”, on the second, “Till The End”(2005), — “Incorrect”. DJ Fomin played an active role in recording of the album and contributed a considerable share to the sound of many compositions and also made professional mastering of the release. Roppongi Inc. Project style is hard to describe as well as it is hard to compare it to some of other existing projects: the sound of R.I.P. is very individual and well recognized, and also it is stylistically diverse. The new album has amplitudes in styles from tbm, ebm and dark electro to synth/future, psy, trance and techno. There is place for depression, melancholy, fear (by using many samples from different horror films) and explosive dancing in “Hard Times… No Future?”. There’s quite lot more dance in the “Hard Times… No Future?” which was missing on the previous releases. Bonus tracks to the album are: remix by a French electro project SEVERIN24 and vocal remix by a well known Moscow formation DBS. Album’s art-work was developed together with DJ Hellen (RGP, Gothic.ru) and Nazar aka 54r from DBS. Live-debut of Roppongi Inc. Project happened 16th of September 2007 on one stage with Melotron, Head-less and Diorama in club Tochka in Moscow. The performance generated considerable public excitement and new interest towards creativity of R.I.P.! NEW REVIEW for "Hard Times...No Future?" ALBUM on CHAIN DLK (USA): Already the third full-length album for this Moscow-based one-man-project consisting of DJ Negative. Sergey L. is the protagonist behind all of this monikers and with this new album he offers his best and most matured work of his musically career so far. With “Hard Times... No Future?” he proves nice, that a DJ can do something more, than only to spin silver circles in a player – DJ Negative doesn’t offer any negativity. Musically he likes to walk on several paths – be it EBM, Dark Electro, Futurepop or smooth easy-listening Electronica. The only mutual thing is that all of his efforts are electronic-based, but at least he doesn’t like to get sorted into one-dimensional genre-cupboards. And though the rather straight and a bit harder EBM-minded tracks like “Don’t Be Proud”, “Relax”, “No Future”, “Minimum Maximum (All Or Nothing)” and – best of some very good tunes – “Still Acid” receive my votes as being the best pieces, Sergey’s tracks can satisfy and entertain in all manners and styles. Some ominous voice samples right and well inserted can be heard on the intro tune “Fuck Up” or “Oasis (Cemetery)”, while his light-hearted Electronica side receives its best moments on “Pop Muzik Never Die”. As so-called bonus tracks you’ll get to heard two remix works. The first one on “230206” by SEVERIN24 concentrates completely to turn this album track into a pure analogue sound event. Second one is a remix on “Hard Times” of the Russian old-school EBM acts DBS – but the final result even ended in a completely new track, on which DBS added some broken German vocals, which caused a smile at me. A lot of different styles to discover and I would recommend to give this album some more spins – you’ll get rewarded with a quite good and entertaining piece of electronic music. In recent news ROPPONGI INC. PROJECT has been selected by DIVERJE to appear on their upcoming remix collection.Mark Tater (Chain-DLK) DAS MUSIKMAGAZIN ZILLO 05/08 about R.I.P.'s "Hard Times ... No Future?" album (in German language): "Neben DJ Ram durfte Dj Negative alias Sergey L. der wohl bekannteste Szene-Dj aus Moskau sein.Dieser versteckt sich auch hinter ROPPONGI INC. PROJECT, kurz R.I.P., und veroffentlicht mit "Hard Times ... No Future?" sein mittlerweile drittes Album. Und wie es sich fur einen DJ gehort, kampft Sergey einen harten Kampft fur mehr Anerkennung. Anlich wie namlich sein bekannter US-Kollege Adam -X, mochte auch Sergey beweisen , dass er sehr viel mehr drauf hat, als ein Stuck Silber in den Player zu schieben. Das gelingt denn auch spielend-und das nicht erst mit disem dritten Album. Die Musick ist eine abwechslungsreiche Melange tanzbarer Electronica-Musick, die irgendwo zwischen EBM, Future-Pop und experimentelleren Formen wie IDM und einem Hauch von Ambient angesiedelt ist. Nett anzuhoren, doch an manchen Stellen vermisst man den Gesang, der eine derartige Produktion durchaus mit grossrem Interesse unterlegenwurde. "Dont Be Proud" und "Hard Times" gehen derweil gut in die Beine, wahrend einige dustere Voice-Semples und die getragene Stimmung von "Oasis (Cemetary)" auch etwas fur die Ohren bietet.
